Dr. Bradford Spencer is Founder and President of Spencer/Shenk/Capers & Associates, Inc. Brad is a trusted advisor to respected Fortune 500 CEOs, a highly-regarded lecturer on organizational behavior, and an expert in the field of organizational psychology.
Prior to founding Spencer/Shenk/Capers & Associates in 1976, he was Director of Employee and Organizational Development at Mattel, Inc. While at Mattel, he initiated innovative programs acclaimed for the extensive research which accompanied them. Before joining Mattel, Brad was with Bank of America. Brad's introduction to the field of organizational behavior came in his first job as a Manager at the Dow Leadership Conference Center. While there, he had the opportunity to host and learn from management philosophers like Dr. Peter Drucker and Dr. Rensis Likert. Since this initiation, he has remained fanatical in his quest to better understand the components of superior leadership.
Brad holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science (Hillsdale College), a Masters in Business Administration (Pepperdine University), and a Ph.D. in Psychology (International College). During his Ph.D. candidacy, Brad tutored under the renowned Dr. Hedges Capers, specializing in Organization Behavior. He has been a lecturer at the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and served as an Executive Advisor to their MBA program. Brad has also taught in the UCLA extension program. He has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate School of Industrial Psychology at the California State University of Long Beach and as a Director on numerous boards, including a role as Chairman of the Strategic Advisory Board of Micro Frame Corporation.
He maintains membership in numerous professional organizations. Brad has presented the results of original research at the N.T.L. Organizational Development Network National Convention and has been asked to address the American Society for Training and Development National Convention on several occasions. He was the youngest speaker ever at the ASPA National Convention. Brad has published numerous business articles and is currently writing a book on his experiences coaching senior leaders.
Brad "married up" and has one great son who proves that athletic prowess does not necessarily come from a father's genes. Brad and his wife, Connie, live happily ever after in Rolling Hills Estates, California.
